ALL FARMERS SHOULD NOTE:
Earlier this year the ‘Liebe Group’ published a report that showed that a mineral fertiliser out-performed, yet cost less than, the conventional fertiliser, in controlled grain trials.
This was significant because it showed that farmers may now switch to organic fertiliser farming, without the fear of lower crop yields, so often reported in the past. Several companies are now producing mineral fertilisers that can match the acidic chemical fertiliser. Mineral fertilisers are both cheaper and out-yield the chemical fertilisers.
Of greater significance however, is the result of tests, carried out with mineral fertilisers and Hibrix Chelator. These are now being confirmed in two university laboratories and being demonstrated at commercial scale on several Western Australian farms.
The tests showed that the addition of Hibrix Chelator to Mineral systems signalled large increases in yield. This was indicated by large increases in root mass on the treated plants indicating a potential 40% increase in yield.
Hibrix Corporation Pty Ltd staff were not surprised by the results. We have seen lots of yield increases of that scale over the developmental years. We have known that Hibrix Chelator is a major break-through in agricultural technology, for some time, but recognise that it must be presented as part of a system, now perfected, that we call the ‘Hibrix System’
Unfortunately the timing of the Liebe report gave little time for farmers to react, but four farmers have in fact sown a total of 250 hectares for wheat and hay around the State, to test the products. Reports so far indicate the result will be positive. The farmers did not have time to prepare their land to their total satisfaction, but chose to trial anyway.
The results so far are more than promising.
Farmers are expected to be cautious in the application of Hibrix Chelator. It will not harm plants, but to get the maximum benefit from this technological change, they must follow the simple Hibrix System.
We liken the Hibrix System to a racing car. The car has a balanced body and four wheels.
The car body in the Hibrix System is a balanced soil. The soil must have a neutral pH, and as demanded by Liebig's Law, there must be no mineral deficiency. Each soil type must be sampled, analysed and adjustments made to ensure no deficiency exists. It is also an advantage to test the microbial activity in the soil so that the starting point is known.
Three of the racing car wheels in the Hibrix System are: (a) food or NPK, (b) Minerals to replace those taken out with the grain, and (c) Microbes to convert the food and minerals into a form acceptable to the plant.
The last wheel is the addition of Hibrix Chelator, which acts as a super efficient mechanism for transfer of the output of the microbes to the plant. The Hibrix Chelator does not enter the plant and has no negative effect.
Just as a racing car with deficiencies will not win a race, so the entire system is necessary to enable top production with the Hibrix Chelator.
What are all the advantages?
- The mineral fertiliser shows a yield increase in its own right.
- The addition of Hibrix Chelator promises a further larger increase.
- Because of its high brix or sugar content the Hibrix crop has virtual immunity from frost damage or the early heat problem.
- The increase in humus, with microbes and carbon, enables much greater water retention in the soil, helping the plant flourish, preventing erosion, reducing and eventually eliminating salinity.
- The healthier Hibrix plant is much less susceptible to infestations of pests and the use of pesticides can be dramatically reduced. The farmer, his family and the consumer can avoid the ingestation of pesticides and the potential health hazards
Farmers are normally careful in the adoption of new technology. They know that agriculture has so many variables that caution is appropriate. However it is clear that there is little, if any, downside risk in trying the mineral fertiliser. The $40 per hectare addition for Hibrix Chelator is the total risk and with the yield potential it would seem a reasonable one.
As there is no mechanical change required to apply the new system, most progressive farmers are looking at testing the Hibrix System on 10% of their crop. The farmer himself needs to see the Hibrix System working on his own land, under his conditions, without risking his livelihood.
